My name is AL. I am just a regular guy who loves collecting, restoring, and sharing cars. Over the last 20 years, I have searched for the cars that my grandparents and parents owned as they grew up.

1931 Model A - My grandfathers first car.

1931 Model A – My grandfather’s first car.

The first car I found was a 1931 Ford Model A Tudor, just like the one my maternal grandfather drove.  Even though I was not able to locate that exact model before my grandparents passed away, I surprised Mom with a fully restored 1931 Ford Model A Tudor on her 65th birthday. The memories just started flowing back as we drove the car toward her childhood home.

After searching and finding some photos of my grandfather with the car, we were able to recreate the same photo. The little oak tree that was a seedling in the original photo now towers over the house.

It is the joy I get from bringing smiles to faces that keeps me going.

At this point, I have collected most of the car models that my family has owned, which is pretty close to one or two cars from every decade up through the 80’s. My friends jokingly called me “the Poor Man’s Jay Leno.” It is true that although I am not rich like Mr. Leno, I do have the same passion for sharing my cars. I try to reserve weekends to share my cars at car shows, homecomings, and retirement homes in the Lancaster and Bucks County area. I get just as much of a thrill driving the residents around in Model Ts, Model A’s, and 1951 Chevys as they do as passengers.

The question you may be asking is, “What is this website for?” Well, more and more I have been asked if I would be willing to rent my cars out to couples getting married, to childhood friends who want to drive through their hometowns in the cars they had in high school, and to 90th birthday parties. When this all started, I was just happy to go here and there, and accepted money here and there, to keep the kids (cars) in sneakers (tires).

Finally, I decided to get more organized. Thus, AlsOldCars.com website was born. It allows me to answer some of the questions that I frequently get asked and put the answers all in one spot.

So… if you would like to rent a car or two for your special event, I will see what I can do to meet your needs.
